US government decides to postpone 10% tariff more on some made-in-China LED lights
17-08-2019
The United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced that 10% imposed tariffs on some previously listed made-in-China consumer items will be postponed to December 15th in order to avoid the coming Christmas shopping season.
For this reason, USTR has announced two new lists for products with extra tariffs effective on September 1, 2019, and the other items effective on December 15, 2019. Several items were removed from the tariffs list due to health, safety, national security and other factors.
Original list has covered LED products include "Ballasts for discharge lamps or tubes", "electrical lighting equipment of a kind used on bicycles", "flashlights", and a series of electrical filament lamps, including LED lamps.
In the updated list, "flashlights", "electrical filament Christmas-tree lamps" and LED lamps are in the delayed list which will be charged with 10 percent tariffs more after December 15, 2019.
In the new list, "ballasts for discharge lamps or tubes", "electrical lighting equipment for bicycles" and other three types of filament lamps will still become effective on September 1, 2019.
