Home applicances and consumer electronics will adopt more and more UVC LEDs technology

More and more people have realized the importance of disinfection after the recent coronavirus epidemic occured. There are increasing market requirements for UVC LEDs home applicances with germicidal functions among consumers around the world.

For example, LG Electronics has introduced a newest refrigerator with ice and water purifier based on UVC LED technology. By UVC LED at the outlet of the water purifier, 99.99% E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus can be dimished according to the test made by Korea Construction & Living Environment Research Institute (KCL).

We will see more and more UVC LED related applications on the market this year. Seoul Viosys said that it Chinese companies such as Hisense and Haier are applying its violeds technology to produce washing machine with laundry tank disinfecting and deodorizing functions.

It is anticipated that UVC lEDs will be standard components for home appliances and consumer electronics. For this reason, the market revenue of UVC LED package will be up to  60% CAGR from 2019 to 2024.
