A brief analysis of automotive LED components market in China

It is reported that China is the largest automotive consumer market around the world,by the middle of 2020, the car ownership is up to 367 million cars. It is estimated that there is still huge market requirement potential for automotive led lights in next few years.
Most of the high end LED chip market in China is still taken by large international suppliers such as Osram, Nichia and Lumileds. Many Chinese LED headlight factories are using LED chips produced by these world-famous players, meanwhile, Everlight and Dominant Opto Technology are activein conquering more market shares in the LED taillight sector. Step by step, more and more Chinese LED package factories are trying to enter car LED lights market to break the market monopoly by international players.
Anrui Opto, is a joint venture established by San’an Opto and Chery in the year2010. Anrui Opto reached a partnership agreement with BAIC Yinxiang (Yinxiang) who is a branch company of Baic Motor Corporation. BAIC Yinxiang mainly focuses on automotive LED lights, for example, rear compound lights (RCL), LED signal lights, and interior decorative lights. Anrui Opto supplies about most of the LED chips to BAIC Yinxiang for the above-mentioned car led lights. Chery, Beiqi Foton Motor and Zotye Auto are among the list of main clients of Anrui Opto.
In the year 2013, Fordalite became a wholly own branch company of Hongli Zhihui Group Co.,Ltd. FodaLite has been devoted to the automotive LED portfolio covering LED signal lights, LED headlights based on the LED chips supplied by Hongliopto. Until now, the oversea automotive aftermarket sector is still the focus by FodaLite, so it has not entered the whole automotive supply chain as yet.
Nowadays, more and more Chinese LED chips manufacturers, for example, Refond and others are also developing their own latest LED chips, however, they are still in relatively small market shares in aftermarket sector. They will need more time to enter OEM sector of automobile market in future.
