5 major trends in the automotive industry we can expect in 2023
07-01-2023
After the covid-19 pandemics occured, the line of automotive has been changing rapidly. We live in a very special time when we talk about the world of cars.
Let us make a forecast for the trend of cars in the year 2023 based on what we saw in the year 2022.
1) Higher prices for new vehicles
End users had thought the pricings for new vehicles would drop in the year 2022 because the problem of semiconductor chip shortage is soloved step by step after the covid-19 pandemics influenced less.
However, that is not the whole of fact because more and more automakers are facing more and more rising costs of materials after the war between Russia and Ukraine occured. The issues of supply chain are resulting in
higher selling prices at last.
Ford, BMW, Kia, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Toyota Hyundai, and more are all raising retailing prices for their vehicles.
2) More quasi-off-roaders for off-roading and camping
mobile hotel.
Whether you need a vehicle that can go off-roading or you just want something that looks like it can, we think the rugged SUV trend will continue to grow in 2023.
3) Expanded subscription plans from more and more auto makers
General Motors and Ford have two of the more egregious subscription plans by requiring customers to pay for their advanced hands-free driver-assist systems called Super Cruise and BlueCruise, Also,Toyota, Subaru, Lexus, and BMW all charge owners a fee to use a smartphone app to access certain things on their vehicles. Mercedes-Benz has introduced a subscription plan for owners to unlock extra performance from their EQE and EQS EVs.
4) Continued increasing applications of EVs for energy-saving
One thing that we can also expect to see is the discontinuation of some inefficient gas-powered engines.
5) Larger touchscreens, fewer physical controls for all of the cars
Now 12.3 inch screens have been standard configurations even for budget-tight vehicles. When automakers are introducing larger and larger screens into their vehicles, they are trying to reduce the physical controls. In near future, the infosystems in your car won’t have any physical controls at all, with every single thing being controlled easily via a central Tesla-esque touchscreen.
