Epistar announced more revenue for LED backlights products in the middle of the year 2019

As the LED industry enters hot sale season later this year, LED chip package supplier Epistar reported revenue increase facing rising demands for consumer products.

Epistar registered a revenue of NT$1.396 billion (US$44.32 million) in July, which reached a peak in the past three month with an on-month increase of 14.24%. For 2Q19, the company announced revenues of NT$ 4.027 billion (US$1.279 billion), dropped by 23.95%YoY and 7.3%QoQ.


Epistar has been suffering from operation loss in the past few quarters with market uncertainty arising from the intense trade dispute between the U.S. and China. Despite the challenging world market, Epistar still anticipates growing opportunities in 3Q19. Epistar LED backlight products have been used by several high-end mobile phones producers. As more new mobile phones will be launched in the third quarter, market requirements for LED backlight keep rising.

Also, the trade dispute also brings more market opportunity to Epistar. Epistar said that many clients are planning to place more orders to their company because of imposed high tariffs.
