Telsa light source supplier EOI establishes more mini LED production lines for automotive lighting

Excellence Optoelectronics Inc(EOI) who supplies light source for world-famous automonous car maker Tesla held a big ceremony on December 27, 2019 for its new factory at Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan. The new site will be used for research and development of Mini LED for automotive displays and large size display besides automotive LED lighting module.
The said factory will cover an area of 20,000 square meters with an 11-floor building. It is estimated that the construction will be finished in 2021.
EOI has been providing LED taillight for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y and has been increasing its market share in the automotive LED lights market in the U.S. It had enlarged its production capacity in Michigan, U.S. in 2018 and begun mass production with the new facility by the end of 2019.
EOI announced that Ford and BMW would showcase three new models based on EOI’s lighting modules soon, expecting the new car sales will and expects the new car sales will boost its production and revenue.
