Samsung announces to add Epistar to its supply chain of Micro LED chip

Korean-based Samsung has diversified its micro LED chips supply chain by cooperating with Taiwan-based LED chip supplier Epistar.In doing so, Samsung is more sure to lanuch Micro LED TVs in the second half of 2020.

Samsung had showed its Micro LED TV lineup earlier this year at CES 2020. It aims to showcase Micro LED TVs covering 75 inches, 88 inches 93 inches and 110 inches to the market in Europe, North America and the Middle East this year.

The Korean-based company currently work with Taiwanese PlayNitride and Chinaese Sanan for sufficient supply of micro LED chip. Epistar has announced its  plan to enlarge production capacity for miniaturized LED chips to meet the increasing demands from its international clients, which matches the recent news of Samsung announcing to add Epistar into its supply chain for micro LED chips .

Currently, Epistar is reportedly the supplier of Mini LED chips for newest products of Apple such as iPad Pro and MacBook Pro for 2020 and 2021.
