Scientists have proven UV LED proucts can reduce covid-19 virus much in blood

A new research from Colorado State University (CSU) found proves that UV LED light can reduce covid-19 virus in blood. With the current technologies, exposing to UV led light can reduce pathogens in human plasma and whole-blood products.

In the recent study, this UV LED solution can kill coronavirus in blood if it could be transmitted by blood transfusion. CSU experts are making study if coronavirus is transmitted by blood. 

Dr. Izabela Ragan, postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at CSU, said they could remove much virus and could not detect the virus after the tested blood was exposed to the Mirasol Pathogen Reduction Technology (PRT) System.

The tested plasma is placed in a special-purpose storage bag, riboflavin solution is added, and the mixture is then exposed to UV LED light. The Mirasol PRT device gently shakes the bag to circulate the blood cells, so the cells come to the surface when they exposed to the UV LED light.

It is spoken that the recent research may also help to cure other patients who suffer from blood transmitted diseases such as HIV.
