TESLA tail light module supplier will enlarge its business of mini LED automotive display

EOI (Excellence Optoelectronics Inc)is among the tail light module supplier list of Tesla, announcing that it has received orders for Mini LED automotive display. EOI will continue to enlarge its Mini LED display category such as automotive applications dashboards, head up displays (HUD) and fine-pitch LED video walls.

EOI began the development of Mini LED display technology in 2018 and established a new factory in Taiwan for Mini LED and Micro LED display production. The company has provided physical sample of its Mini LED display product to a leading automaker for car interior display applications. The LED chips applied by EOI are from Epistar and HPO.


Nowadays the company continue to produce tail light modules for Model 3 and Model Y Tesla’s electric cars. Despite that the delivery has been delayed due to the covid-19, EOI said that the shipment has been normalized recently.

In July and August, The revenues of EOI were driven by the shipment of Tesla, growing by 18.71% YoY and 8.96% YoY separately. EOI estimates that its business volume will be much higher in the second half of 2020.
