Osram is still active in development of automotive LED technologies facing the booming market demands

A recent market survey shows that the global automotive market has been an upward trend since the end of the year 2020. Many automotive LED lights manufacturers in China have been busy with full capacity production and have to extend the lead time. Most of them have to raise their original quotation a bit facing the rising cost of materials, and a few of them continue observing the possibility of double booking.

The production lines of AMS/Osram are working in full capacity in Malaysia in order to solve the issue of overbalances supply.They tried their best to optimize the product coverage of automotive LED for the market requirements. In doing so, the overall investment on automotive LED market will be as stable as before without diminishing the market demands from car makers and automotive led lamp manufacturers.

In the year 2020, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, Nichia, and Lumileds remained top three largest automotive LED suppliers in the automotive LED player revenue ranking. three players take a combined market share of 71.9%. European and American car makers preferred LED solutions from Osram for their high-end vehicles and new energy vehicles. Osram has a 36% of global automotive LED market share in the year 2020.
