Automotive Led Lights Orders Raise Epistar Revenue

Recent automotive led lights orders have made revenue for LED chips manufacturer Epistar, reported Economic Daily News on the 16th. Mid power LED chips for vehicular led lights are anticipated to drive up company revenue to 40 percent in 2014.

Although 4Q is typically a slack season for the LED lights industry, with backlight orders better than expected and increase in demand for LED lights, orders remained strong for LED lights manufacturers in 4Q 2013.

Performance this quarter surpassed the company’s expectations, said Rider Chang, spokesperson and vice general manager for Epistar. The company originally estimated revenue for Oct.-Nov. to reach between NT $1.8 billion (US $60.7 million) to NT $1.9 billion, instead revenue for the two months reached NT $1.98 billion and NT $2.08 billion respectively. The company has anticipated 4Q performance to exceed 3Q in the year 2013.
